Tripwires, The Old Queen’s Head, Islington - Tuesday 13th March 2012
I have such love for this band it’s almost untrue. Ropey mix, shaky vocals, playing in the attic of a public house - it doesn’t matter. None of it matters apart from they’re still here, playing shoegaze straight from the heart, shatteringly aggressive and beautiful. They’ve been through hell and when they finish on their lovelorn version of Daniel Johnson’s True Love Will Find You In The End, I’m thoroughly moved.
They will win, eventually, as A Sunshine Overdose pounds in my head on the train home, nowhere especially, in between spaces and places.
Shoegazer alive.

I didn’t think I was going to be able to go to this, but fuck expense and fuck logistics and fuck bending over backwards over preceding and following weeks and days to make it happen and make up time.
This is the future. I get purified. Shoegaze alive!
See you in London?
